WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS

About Us

The

Workforce Development Board of East Central Illinois is one of 26 workforce boards in Illinois; each covers a different region of the state. Our local board covers Champaign, Ford, Iroquois and Piatt Counties.

Under provisions of the U.S. Department of Labor's Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), all workforce boards must be comprised of at least 51% private sector representation. WIA also requires the board to have mandated "partner" agencies represented on the board. Other members may include labor organizations, educational institutions, economic development entities and community-based organizations.
