WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS

As residents of East Central Illinois, we are fortunate to enjoy the exceptional quality of life in our area.  With one of the consistently lowest unemployment rates in the state, our local economy has shown resilience at times when other communities are struggling to attract new businesses, much less retain residents.  At the heart of any thriving economy is a high quality workforce that meets the needs of existing businesses and attracts new businesses, all of whom generate tax revenue for community amenities and services that benefit us all.

Our mission revolves around the critical relationship between workforce and economic development.  Our board's membership is comprised of diverse business executives and community leaders who are committed to analyzing local workforce issues and, more importantly, developing effective solutions that we can enact today.  By increasing the involvement of businesses through partnerships, we can increase employment opportunities for the residents of Champaign, Ford, Iroquois and Piatt Counties.
